Privacy Policy

LU Wellness collects only the information you choose to give through a form on this website. There are no accounts to create and nothing to log in to.

• Your name and email address, when you send a message or join an interest list.
• Anything you write in a message, including how you describe where you are starting from.
• Information you voluntarily submit through future interactive experiences on this website, such as LU Start — for example your first name, your email address, and the answers you choose.
• Basic technical information that any website receives in order to serve a page, such as browser type and approximate region.

We do not ask for sensitive information such as medical history, diagnoses, payment details or government identifiers, and we would rather not receive it. Please do not include it in a message.

Information is collected for a small number of specific reasons:

• To reply to you personally when you write to Lujain.
• To let you know when something you asked to hear about — such as a programme opening — is ready.
• To deliver a result, summary or resource you have specifically requested.
• To send occasional LU Wellness emails, but only if you have separately and explicitly asked for them.
• To understand, in general terms, which pages and lessons are useful so the teaching can improve.

These are two different things, and LU Wellness keeps them separate on purpose.

• Requested communications are the ones you asked for: a reply to your message, or a result or resource you asked us to send. Giving your email address so we can send you something you requested is not consent to marketing.
• Optional marketing communications are occasional LU Wellness emails about lessons, programmes and announcements. You receive these only if you knowingly opt in. Any consent checkbox is unchecked to begin with, and choosing not to tick it never prevents you from receiving what you asked for.

When you choose to receive optional marketing communications, we may keep a record of your consent, including when it was provided and the wording presented at the time.

Sending the contact form is never treated as consent to marketing.

Your information is used for the purpose you gave it for, and for closely related purposes such as keeping our own records accurate. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent, trade or share it for anyone else's marketing.

If we ever wanted to use your information for a genuinely new purpose, we would ask you first.

Like most websites, LU Wellness relies on a small number of technology providers to operate. These may include website hosting, the database that stores form submissions, and — where used — a service that delivers email on our behalf. These providers process information only as needed to provide their service to us.

Some providers may store or process information outside Canada, which means it can be subject to the laws of the country where it is held.

This website does not use advertising trackers, and it does not use cookies to build a profile of you. Where general, aggregated visit information is available to us through our hosting platform, it is used only to understand which pages are being read.

If LU Wellness later introduces a website analytics tool, this policy will be updated to say so.

Form submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored in a hosted database with access restricted to Lujain and, where necessary, the people helping her run the website. We deliberately keep the amount of information we collect small, because the safest information is the information we never asked for.

No website or database can promise perfect security, and we will not claim otherwise. If a breach ever affected your information in a way that created a real risk to you, we would tell you.

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as otherwise required or permitted by law.

• Messages are kept while the conversation is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you write again.
• Interest list and mailing list entries are kept until you ask to be removed.
• Answers submitted through an interactive experience are kept so we can understand what women are asking for, and are removed on request.

You are always in control of what you hear from LU Wellness.

• You can decline optional marketing and still receive anything you specifically requested.
• You can ask to be removed from any list at any time. Marketing emails include a way to unsubscribe, and you can also simply reply and ask, or email lu@luwellness.com.
• You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to remove it.

Lujain answers these requests herself, usually within a few days. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request about someone's personal information.

LU Wellness is written for adult women and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through this website, please contact us so it can be removed.

As LU Wellness grows, this policy will be updated — for example if a new email or analytics service is introduced. The date at the top of this page always shows when it was last revised, and meaningful changes will be described in the updated wording rather than buried.
