About Lujain

The Classroom Changed. The Purpose Never Did.

Before Lujain ever taught someone how to squat, lift a weight, or feel more comfortable in a gym, she spent more than 15 years helping people build confidence through language.

Lujain, founder of LU Wellness, smiling warmly

Before I ever taught someone how to squat, lift a weight, or feel more comfortable in a gym, I spent more than 15 years teaching people how to build confidence through language.

For me, teaching has never only been about the subject.

It has always been about the moment when someone begins believing:

“I can do this.”

That idea has followed me through every chapter of my life.

From Syria.To Canada.From the classroom.To online teaching.From language.To movement.

The subject changed. The purpose never did.

Where My Story Began

I was born in Syria.

It is part of who I am, part of the way I see the world, and part of the story that eventually brought me to Canada.

Moving countries means beginning again in ways people do not always see.

You learn a new environment. You build new routines. You find community. You balance family, work, responsibility, and the uncertainty that comes with creating a new chapter.

Over time, I learned something about starting again:

You do not need to have everything figured out before you take the first step.

You simply begin with what you have, learn as you go, and keep moving forward.

That lesson would eventually become part of the philosophy behind LU Wellness.

A Teacher Before Anything Else

Teaching English was my profession for more than 15 years, but it also taught me something much bigger than language.

People gain confidence when things begin to make sense.

A student might enter a lesson afraid of making a mistake.

She hesitates. She questions herself. She worries that everyone else knows more than she does.

Then she learns.She practises.Something clicks.

And eventually the fear begins to disappear.

That is the part of teaching I always loved most.

Not simply helping someone know more.Helping someone believe more in herself.

I learned that good teaching is not about making people feel behind.

It is about meeting them where they are and helping them understand what comes next.

That belief still guides the way I teach today.

Teaching Beyond the Classroom

Eventually, teaching became bigger than a classroom.

Through social media and online content, I discovered that education could reach people wherever they were.

A lesson could happen through a screen.A conversation could connect people in different countries. An idea could help someone I had never met.

That experience taught me how powerful clear communication can be.

It also taught me the importance of being real.

People do not always need someone who appears to have everything figured out.

Sometimes they need someone who can explain something clearly, encourage them, and help the next step feel possible.

That is the kind of relationship I want LU Wellness to have with the women who find it.

When Fitness Became Personal

I did not begin exercising because I planned to build a wellness business.

I simply wanted to feel healthier.

At first, fitness was about movement. Then I discovered strength training. And slowly, it became something more.

I began feeling stronger.I had more energy.I became more confident in what my body could do.

Exercise stopped feeling like something I had to force myself to do.

It became part of my life.

But as I spent more time around fitness, I also noticed something that reminded me very much of my students.

There were people who wanted to become healthier but felt intimidated. They did not know where to begin. They worried about doing something wrong. They walked into fitness spaces feeling as though everyone else already knew the rules.

That feeling was familiar to me.

It was the same uncertainty I had seen in classrooms for years.

And the teacher in me wanted to help.

A Different Subject. The Same Purpose.

Becoming a fitness instructor might look like a complete career change.

To me, it feels more like the next chapter of the same work.

I am still teaching.I am still explaining.

I am still helping someone move from:

“I do not know if I can do this.”

to:

“I think I can.”

The classroom changed. The purpose never did.

When I teach movement, I do not want someone to simply copy what I am doing.

I want her to understand it.

Why this movement? Why this order? Why this amount of resistance? Why does recovery matter? What is her body actually doing?

Because when we understand something, it becomes less intimidating.

And when something becomes less intimidating, confidence has room to grow.

The classroom changed. The purpose never did.

Why I Created LU Wellness

LU Wellness was created for women who want to feel healthier and stronger without feeling overwhelmed by fitness.

Women with careers.Families.Responsibilities.Busy schedules.Good weeks.Difficult weeks.Real lives.

I do not believe wellness should require you to organize your entire life around it.

I believe wellness should support the life you already have.

That means realistic habits.Clear education.Approachable movement.Gradual progress. And enough flexibility to keep going when life is imperfect.

You do not need to exercise every day.You do not need to punish yourself. You do not have to be perfect. And you certainly do not have to become “fit enough” before you are allowed to begin.

You begin where you are.

The LU Wellness Approach

There are four ideas at the heart of LU Wellness:

  • Learn

Understand your body and why you are doing what you are doing.

  • Move

Practise the basics well and build confidence through movement.

  • Build

Progress gradually, one step at a time.

  • Live

Create habits that belong in your real life, not outside of it.

For me, those four ideas are about much more than exercise.

They are about helping women become active participants in their own wellness instead of feeling confused or intimidated by it.

What I Hope Women Feel Here

I want LU Wellness to feel welcoming before it ever feels challenging.

I want a woman who has never lifted a weight to feel comfortable asking a basic question.

I want someone returning to exercise after years away to know she has not failed.

I want busy women to understand that something is better than nothing.

I want women to stop believing that exercise only counts when it is difficult, exhausting, or extreme.

I want them to notice the victories that do not always appear on a scale.

  • Carrying something more easily.
  • Walking farther.
  • Learning a new movement.
  • Having more energy.
  • Feeling proud of showing up.
  • Trusting their body again.
  • Feeling capable.

Those things matter.

Building Something Bigger

My dream for LU Wellness is bigger than workouts.

I want it to become a place where women can learn.

Through programs.Lessons.Videos.Workshops.Community.And eventually experiences that bring women together around health, confidence, and personal growth.

But no matter how LU Wellness grows, I want the foundation to remain the same.

Teach clearly.Welcome people where they are.Make progress feel possible. And never make someone feel that she has to be perfect before she belongs.

The Next Chapter

Looking back, the different parts of my life make more sense to me now.

Growing up in Syria.Beginning again in Canada.Teaching English.Building a family.Creating content.Discovering fitness.Becoming an instructor.

They do not feel like separate stories anymore.

They brought me here.

“I spent years helping people find confidence through their voice. Today, I want to help women discover confidence through their strength.”

The classroom changed. The purpose never did.
